About

Alexander was born in Kazakhstan in 1990 and moved to Germany at the age of four, where he grew up near Stuttgart with his parents and two siblings. Influenced by the limitations of the planned economy in the former Soviet Union, his family became accustomed to building and setting up many things in their household themselves. This fostered Alexander’s early interest in a hands-on approach to life and showed him that he could independently design and create his own environment and surroundings.

He honed his professional woodworking skills in California, learning from a renowned woodworker, and furthered his knowledge by working with craftsmen and designers in Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. Constantly seeking new methods, inspiration, and connections with masters of their craft, he developed his own style. His works can now be found in most major German cities, as well as in the USA, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.

In his sculptural furniture, he is guided by the natural shape and grain of the wood. He also draws inspiration from nature, indigenous art, and the human body. Every piece is handmade by Alexander in his studio near Stuttgart, Germany.
